I walk
Through my day.
Bodies press,
Hurrying, impersonal.
On my way,
I float,
Resting
On thoughts of you.
I smell rain
On pavement.
Damp grass
Perfumes the air.
Across campus,
A bell chimes
On my way to class.
Rain falls in my hair
And in puddles
Reflecting dripping trees.
I think of soft palms pressing–
Light touches
In the dawn–
Rising
To float
On the way you smelled
Next to me
Sleeping, warm
The night before.
Love this.
