This recipe is the bomb. It’s awesome because it’s (1) delicious and (2) ridiculously easy to make! It was inspired by a salad I ate for lunch the other day when I was traveling.
Some good friends of mine recommended the restaurant because it features local produce and farm-to-table kinds of things. They’ve been trying to recreate this salad dressing at home, but hadn’t figured it out yet. Since I have a knack for flavors, I decided to give it a go, and it turned out great!! I’d say it’s even better than the original because the ingredients are higher quality. ;)
Here’s the recipe.
Creamy Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing
– 1/2 c. balsamic reduction (buy here)
– 2-3 TBSP raw grass fed cream (find raw cream here)
– 1 TBSP raw honey (buy here)
– 1/4 c. extra virgin olive oil (buy here)
Whisk all ingredients together.
Ideal on a salad with goat cheese, granny smith apples, shredded carrots, and chopped pecans.
Thanks to MyLifeasaMrs for the photo.
#1) HOW LONG can this last in the fridge with the Raw Cream?
#2) If we added WHEY to it to keep in the fridge longer…how much should we add to this recipe…A Tsp?
Is the cream mandatory..? I don’t like cream so much.
My husband’s a chef, so I’ll chat with him and see what he suggests, and if he has a brilliant idea, I’ll let you know! :)
I’m not sure. I always make it fresh.
Does this have added sugar in it? If it does, it’s not GAPS legal and I want to make sure it’s GAPS legal. :)
No, just honey.
How do you think kefired cream would go with this? (for those on the GAPS diet)
Yes! I think that’d be delicious! :)
What is balsamic reduction sauce? I’m assuming it’s not just balsamic vinegar.
Sigh. I wish I could just go to the store and buy some raw grassfed cream, but I can’t….
You take balsamic vinegar and boil it until it reduces by half and becomes nice and syrupy. :)
Annnnd, that syrup is super yummy on ice cream .. AAANNND, since you know where to get that real cream, I’m sure you know where to get that! :) Yummy!
It’s also super good on strawberries!!
