We
moved to the Bay Area, California in June of this year. We were originally living in a
big house with roommates, but things turned sour immediately after everyone moved in, and faced with the choice to (A) compromise our values and give into bullying or (B) move out.
We chose to move out.
And we couldn’t be happier with our decision! :)
We are now renting the CUTEST little two bedroom from hands-down the BEST landlords we’ve ever had! Our landlords are incredibly kind, intelligent, prompt, reasonable, and courteous. Our two neighbors are very sweet. We feel really blessed.
On top of that, I have my own kitchen again! YAY!
I thought you all might like to see some pictures of the new place. Yes, I have a lot of books.

Hi Courtney, I have just discovered your site. It’s nice and inspiring. I also have Nourishing Traditions, it’s a great book :-) And.. no, you do not have a lot of books, you only say so because you have not seen our house ;-) When we met, each of us already owned at least four times that much, and they have multiplied through the years.
Books make such wonderful friends. :) What are you favorites?
Oh, Courtney! This is absolutely perfect for you two :) You have made a beautiful home!
So cute! Love it. Glad you found a better place!
Cool pics. The place looks lovely, especially for a rental. I just love the Maker’s Mark bottle you guys are using for a door stop…that made me laugh :-) Congrats on the new place.
Thanks! The Maker’s bottle was Frank’s idea. :)
Why were you guys being bullied??
Because there are, unfortunately, entitled people in this world. In this case, our roommates thought they were entitled to our finances and demanded we pay part of their rent or we were “forcing them to go into more debt.”
