I MADE HUGE PERSONAL PROGRESS TODAY!!!!
On January 1, I did five weak-sauce girl push-ups (or “modified” push-ups for everyone I offended by saying “girl” push-ups). On January 6, I wrote this blog about the inspiration behind me deciding to do push-ups this year, and I increased the amount of reps I was able to do to 12!
Today is January 14, and YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!!
Every day, I’ve TRIED to do a regular push-up and failed. So I’ve continued to do push-ups with my knees on the ground. On Thursday, just four days ago, I downloaded this app called Loop Habit Tracker, and I decided I’d use it to make sure I do my push-ups every day. I also decided after reaching 12 reps in a row, I’d bring it back down to 10 reps in a row and do one set every 2 hours throughout the day for 50 total push-ups a day.
I’ve been doing 50 modified push-ups a day since Thursday.
Today, without thinking about it, on Set 3, I got down to the floor and I did a regular push up! I realized I’d just done ONE with my knees off the ground when I went to do a second one and failed.
AHHHHHHH!!!! I’m so happy!!!! My first ever real push-up! Look out world! I’m getting stronger!
Congratulations on your very first push up! It always feels good to set a new personal record.
